Gaylord Opryland Hotel Closed Due To Flooding
Gaylord Hotels just issued a press release that the Opryland Hotel has been closed due to flooding. The release further states, “it is reasonable to conclude that the hotel will likely be closed for several months. Gaylord will assess the damage as soon as it is feasible to do so. The Company carries business interruption and property insurance associated with flood damage with an aggregate limit of $50 million.”
RWA is contractually obligated to hold its conference at the Gaylord Opryland over the dates stipulated in the contract. It is up to Gaylord to notify RWA if it cannot uphold its end of the contract, so we are in a wait-and- see mode.
Since RWA's Conference is nearly three months from now, it’s too soon to tell if or how the flooding will affect us. We are monitoring the situation and will post updates on the RWA website ASAP.
