|About Our Chapter
IRN (Iowa Romance Novelists) is the central Iowa Chapter of Romance Writers of America® (RWA) located in Des Moines, Iowa. Founded in 1993, IRN is the central Iowa chapter of Romance Writers of America®.
We are dedicated to promoting education, excellence, and innovation in a cooperative, friendly atmosphere of integrity, mutual respect, and personal responsibility. We are committed to the support and encouragement of our members, both published and unpublished as they pursue their writing goals.
2014 MEETINGS PROGRAMS:
Each month we have a program on a specific topic. Sometimes we have speakers; other times chapter members present programs, and occasionally we do field trips. The topic and the location are announced prior to the meeting date.

March 15 - Extra-Curricular Activities
April 19- Plotting Without a Net
May 17 - Detention - Tension in Your Story
June 21- Book Reports - Reading a RITA Book
July 19- ABCs - GMC Story Building Blocks
August 16- Apple for the Teacher
September 20 - Field Trip - Montezuma All-Iowa Author's Conference - No Regular Meeting
October 18 - Spelling Bee - Editing Your Work - Stephanie Riva, Riva Reading
November 15 - Show and Tell - Show Don't Tell
December - IRN Annual Awards Event - No Regular Meeting
OUR MEETING FORMAT:
10:00 AM - Chapter Business Meeting
11:00 AM - Critique
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Program
1:00 PM - Optional lunch at nearby restaurant for those who choose to go.
