Five authors give a behind the scenes look at the mysterious process of writing a book. Going from concept, to character building, to plotting (or not), and then through the revision process, the authors will reveal the techniques, habits, and quirks they employ to get the stories they imagine into the hands of readers.

Librarians’ and authors’ mutual focus on readers makes it obvious that the two are a natural team. Sometimes, we just need some practice developing our teamwork skills. In this age of ebooks, paid subscription services, reductions in library budgets, and self-publishing, with methods of transmitting a book from author to reader constantly developing, how can authors and librarians most effectively work together? This session will bring authors and librarians together to discuss what works and what doesn’t and what forms our partnerships can take going forward.
