Category: RWA University
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most talked-about technologies of our time, but what does it actually mean, and what doesn’t it mean? This workshop offers a clear, unbiased introduction to AI, focusing on what it is, how it works, and its current capabilities and limitations. We’ll break down complex concepts like large language models (LLMs) into simple terms, dispel common myths, and provide a balanced perspective. Whether you’re curious or cautious about AI, this session will give you the foundational knowledge to better understand this rapidly evolving technology. Meet the presenter: Jason S. Wrench has spent 30 years studying how people interact with and through technology. A full professor in the Department of Communication at SUNY New Paltz, Jason combines his academic expertise with a passion for storytelling. His research includes over 35 peer-reviewed articles and more than 25 academic books and textbooks, including Generative AI in the Communication Classroom and The Future is Now: Empowering Society Through AI Literacy, set to release later this year.Outside academia, Jason writes contemporary romance and romantic suspense. His works include the 12 Days of Murder, Till Death Do Us Wed, Up on the Farm series, and the Love and Liquidation trilogy, all published by Pride Publishing (now Totally Entwined).
