As part of RWA's efforts to preserve the best-seller list, an important barometer for readers looking for new books, we sent a letter to USA Today. We were acting on information that indicated the paper was evaluating the list’s future. Following the New York Times changes, we thought it important to act swiftly. However, it appears we may have acted too swiftly. USA Today has informed us they have no plans to discontinue their best-seller list. RWA regrets the confusion and hopes that USA Today sees our letter as a reason to continue their best-seller list long into the future.
