PRO Announces 2012 Mentor of the Year: Deborah Cooke

The PRO Steering Committee is pleased to announce that this year's recipient for the PRO Mentor of the Year Award is Deborah Cooke.

A New York Times and USA Today best-selling author with more than 40 romance novels and novellas under her belt, Deborah generously shares all she has learned over the years and devotes much of her time to mentoring. In today's ever-changing and often uncertain landscape of publishing, Deborah's expertise is invaluable to those who seek her advice. As Kim Chin-Sam expressed in her letter of nomination, "She listens, truly listens, to the concerns of new writers and, realizing that everyone’s publishing journey is different, she gives these writers multiple answers to consider."

The committee extends heartfelt congratulations to Deborah Cooke. The award will be officially presented at the PRO Retreat at RWA2012 in Anaheim.

The committee would also like to thank everyone who took the time to send in letters of nomination. Your praise and enthusiasm for your nominees certainly made our task of selecting only one recipient a difficult one. We were greatly moved to learn of the many PAN members who give so much of themselves to the PROs. Such generosity is a treasure, as is your willingness to show your appreciation so strongly.
