Whether a pantser or a plotter there’s nothing worse than the dreaded sagging middle. Or the less than hooky beginning. Not to mention the anti-climactic climax. Down ‘N’ Dirty Plotting helps pinpoint the trouble spots in a manuscript and allow an author to focus on the development of the story, character motivation, character/story/series arc, and identify where the opportunities are to add a little twist or put the pressure on a character.
By blending the Six Stage Plot Structure (Michael Hague) with Evan Marshal's Marshal Plan for Novelists, Down ‘N’ Dirty Plotting creates a visual tool writers of any level can use to help figure out sticking points and those areas that may be sagging just a bit. Using a unique “plug-n-chug” cheatsheet to get a writer from brainstorming to rough draft. (Spreadsheet is in Excel format and can be used on Windows based or Mac computers with Microsoft Excel installed.)
This is an interactive workshop that requires audience participation.
Born in California but raised in Las Vegas, Qwillia Rain embraced fully the independent spirit of the West she grew up in, even if she currently resides in North Carolina--after brief sojourns to Alaska and Montana.
Over the years she's worked at a diverse mix of jobs including: casino change person, bill collector, book and video store clerk, and computer teacher to Kindergarten through 8th graders. Throughout it all, writing has always been part of her life.
In 2007, her first book (recently revised and self-published) Santa's Elf, was published, opening a whole new world where she can play with her characters and get paid for it. Her curiosity and tendency to ask "What if" is sure to keep her occupied with ideas while she keeps her wanderlust at bay. Her books can be found on-line at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, All Romance eBooks, or through her publisher, Loose Id, LLC (www.loose-id.com)
