Romance is everywhere even in blockbusters like Terminator and Star Wars. Strong romantic plots drove TV shows like Castle, Moonlighting, and Cheers to top ratings. It was the sexual tension that viewers to tuned in each week to find out if this would be the episode they finally acted on their attraction or not. Twitter blew up when Sheldon and Amy finally kissed on The Big Bang Theory, then blew up all over again when they consummated their relationship.

Writing romance and sex can be tricky. You’re not writing a how-to manual after all. In this workshop you’ll learn how to create sexual tension, how to write sex scenes, and how to plot a romance that will have readers staying up until the wee hours to finish.

About the speaker:

USA Today best selling author and Rita® finalist, Beth Yarnall, writes mysteries, romantic suspense, and the occasional hilarious tweet. A storyteller since her playground days, Beth remembers her friends asking her to make up stories of how the person `died' in the slumber party game Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, so it's little wonder she prefers writing stories in which people meet unfortunate ends.

For a number of years, Beth made her living as a hairstylist and makeup artist and even owned a salon. Somehow hairstylists and salons seem to find their way into her stories. Beth lives in Southern California with her husband, two sons, and their rescue dog where she is hard at work on her next novel. For more information about Beth and her novels please visit her website-

This meeting will also include our annual holiday "tea". Please plan to extend your day and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with this potluck event at no extra charge for our members and guests already attending. Those guests coming for the tea only, the charge is $10.

SEE YOU IN 2018!
