I’m a writer.
How did you come to be one, you ask?
My mother died. Yes, yes, very sad, thank you for your condolences.
With that came an epiphany.
“Life is short,” said my inner voice.
“Thanks, IV,” I replied. “I know what I have to do.
And in two and a half years, I’ve gotten an agent, co-written two books, ghost-written another, published an article, completed one novel, and started a second one.
Lynn Marie Hulsman is the Artistic Director of ComedySportz New York, an improv comedy company with branches in cities from L.A. to Berlin to Manchester. Before dedicating her working life to writing, she was an actor, a stand-up comic, an ad copy writer, a comedy coach, a concept optimization specialist, a creative ideation agent, and a cheese-sample passer-outer.
She is the co-writer of HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SODA with Anton Nocito and THE IRISH PANTRY with Noel McMeel. She is the author of THE KENTUCKY BOURBON DESSERT COOKBOOK (forthcoming University of Kentucky Press) and the romantic comedy novel JULIET WILL MAKE IT.
She lives with her family in New York City, where she is at work on a novel about friendship and brassieres.
