Jessica Aspen always wanted to be spirited away to a world inhabited by elves, were-wolves, and sexy men who walk on the dark side of the knife. Luckily, she’s been able to explore her fantasy side and delve into new worlds by writing paranormal romance. She loves indulging in dark chocolate and reading eclectic novels, but ends up spending most of her time writing her spicy twisted fairy tales, walking the dog, and hiking in the amazing Colorado Rockies.
Her first novella, Little Red Riding Wolf, came out in 2012 from Passion in Print Press and has been a finalist in several contests including Passionate Ink’s 2011 Stroke of Midnight and Desert Rose RWA’s 2013 Golden Quill, as well as a 2013 Holt Medallion Award of Merit from the Virginia Romance Writers. Her twisted fairy tale romances have gone on to final in the Colorado Award of Excellence, the Golden Quill, and the OKRWA International Digital Awards.
In 2016 she republished her backlist, retitled: RED, SNOW, and GOLDI: Sexy Shifter Fairytale Romances, as well as adding in new titles: SCARLETT, SILVER and CINDER. In 2015 she published her third full-length fantasy romance in her Tales of the Black Court series and will have numbers four and five out in 2017, as well as a new paranormal suspense series: WOLF ENFORCERS.
After dabbling for a few years in the business school, and deciding she’d rather be reading, Jessica graduated from the University of Colorado with degrees in English Literature and Elementary Education. She is a member of RWA, FF&P and KOD, and she has served on the RWA PRO-Steering Committee. Jessica was a member of Colorado Romance Writers from 2009-2016 and while she was there she chaired the 2014 Audit Committee, was Reservationist for several years and served four years on the CRW Tea Committee. She has also served as Published Author Liason in 2012 and 2016, 2011/2012 CRW Pro Liasion, was Co-coordinator for the 2015 and 2016 CRW Writing Retreats, and twice has supervised the silent auction for the CRW August Mini-Con. Jessica served as Treasurer on the Colorado Romance Writer's 2015 board.
