A native of Paris Hill, Maine, Leigh spent most of her childhood and early adult years in San Francisco before emigrating to Wales to marry and raise three sons. She has been a writer, editor and lecturer for most of her life, intermingled with career portfolios in marketing, finance and community arts projects. An award-winning editor, she has published three volumes of women’s autobiographical writing about their lives in Wales and during World War II. Following the Troops, Life for an Army Wife 1940-1945 is her mother's memoir, published posthumously.
Wait a Lonely Lifetime is her debut novel, inspired by a visit to Firenze and her fascination for its beauty and history. She published the serial novel set in Maine, Nights Before, in six episodes and released between December 2012 and December 2013, published in a print volume in 2015. She is also the author of Salsa Dancing with Pterodactyls, 2014 and This Can't Be Love, published in January, 2015.
Writing as Lily Dewaruile, she explores the history and culture of 9th and 10th century in a turbulent Wales/Cymru. Her five-book series, Pendyffryn: The Conquerors, is the story of mercenary warriors and the women who conquer them. The five novels in the series, Invasion, Salvation, Betrayal, Revival and Reconciliation are now available. Her first historical novel, Traitor's Daughter, is the story of lies and betrayal that lead to the deaths of a family in the wild region of the Tywi Valley. The sequel, Vengeance's Son, is scheduled for release soon. Pendyffryn: The Inheritors, the stories of the invaders' children, is a work in progress.
