Bio:

Cheryl Zach has written over a dozen adult novels, and almost thirty YA and middle grade books; some were best sellers and several were award winners. Many had very positive reviews in trade periodicals such as PW, Booklist and School Library Journal. She is the only young adult writer to be inducted into the RWA’s Hall of Fame for winning the Rita award three times in the YA category, the last for Runaway, Berkley Publishing. Her YA Civil War historical, Hearts Divided, also received the Holt Medallion from the Virginia Romance Writers. She has also published Regency historicals as Nicole Byrd; about half of these were co-written with her daughter Michelle Place, the rest alone. Of the Nicole Byrd books, Beauty in Black won the Greater Detroit’s Booksellers’ Best award, and Lady in Waiting was awarded the RWA Arizona Desert Rose Golden Quill award. She enjoys writing adventure, mystery, romantic suspense, historical, fantasy and romance.

An Army brat, Cheryl was born in Tennessee, but has also lived in Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, California, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in Germany and Scotland. She has traveled to most of the United States and several other countries.She has a BA and MA in English Lit and taught in the class room before stopping to write full time.
