Bio:

Annie Parnell has been making up stories for as long as she can remember, even before she knew her alphabet. Back then she drew her stories with her box of 64 Crayola crayons. She once used her father’s Fortune magazine as her drawing pad. He was less than pleased. It was her first critical review.

Born in New York City and raised in southern Ohio. In childhood and adolescence, she had what would later be called un-diagnosed learning disabilities. Adolescence is hard on everyone’s self-esteem, but when challenged by disability, life became positively horrible. In college, with help, she finally found a way to turn her deficits into strengths and assets.

Taking from her own life difficulties, Annie creates protagonists who are women of resilience and undeniable strength. They take what life dishes out and bounce back, with the help of friends of course, and she always gives her protagonists their happily ever after. She loves creating characters and putting them in jeopardy. Out of all her different jobs: sandwich maker, office temp, set designer, tech support, window dresser, television director, and instructional designer, she says being an author is the best job.
