About Indiana RWA
Indiana Romance Writers of America is chapter #15 of the Romance Writers of America® (RWA). Our Chapter was founded January 1, 1982, and incorporated in 1985. We are a professional organization dedicated to creating high-quality romance writing in all genres through education and networking among authors, editors, agents, and others in the publishing industry. Our mission is to educate and encourage authors at all levels in their pursuit of excellence in romance writing.

**2017 Program Schedule**
Visitors are welcome and may attend up to two meetings before joining. Many programs are recorded and available to IRWA members for viewing and listening!
September 9, 2017 - Jillian Jacobs: Good Tips for Writing Bad People
October 14, 2017 - Kennedy Layne/Mr. Layne: How to be A Successful Author/Supportive Spouse
November 17-19 - Bradford Woods Retreat (Registration is currently open to IRWA members and will open October 1 to non-members if space is available.)

The 2017 Indiana Golden Opportunity (IGO) Contest is now closed. Check back in September for finalist announcements. Congratulations to 2016 IGO Contest winner Meta Carroll for her 2017 Golden Heart win in the Romantic Suspense category!

Topic: Jillian Jacobs: Good Tips for Writing Bad People: Delving into a villain's purpose
An in-depth look into the various aspects of using a villain when writing your story. This presentation will not deal with the dark moment per se but at the influences a villain can have on your primary characters, and how to use those to evoke emotion in the reader.
