Local RWA chapters offer a number of conferences, contests, and workshops. Listed below are the chapter contests and conferences scheduled for the coming months.

    February Contests

    *2017 Write Touch Readers Award

    Sponsor: Wisconsin chapter (WisRWA)
    Fee: $25.00 per entry; WisRWA members receive one free entry as benefit of membership.
    Deadline: February 28, 2017 at 11:59 CST.
    Eligibility: Books must have a 2016 copyright date and authors must be a current member of RWA.
    Entry: Electronically in pdf form or three copies of print book.
    Judges: Entries will be judged by a group of avid romance readers. Each entry will be read by three different judges. Three finalists determined by the highest combined score will be announced per category. Winners in each category will be announced at the WisRWA spring conference in May, 2017.

    Eligibility: All categories, except the Published Author category, are open to entrants who have not published and are not contracted in any novel-length fiction. All work must be the author’s original work that has never been published in any form ever, and has not been contracted for publication prior to the entry deadline of April 1, 2017. It is not a requirement to have a finished novel-length manuscript in order to enter this contest.
    Entry: The beginning of the manuscript up to 7500 word maximum entry (approximately 30 pages) submitted electronically. No synopsis. Finalists ​will have an opportunity to read first-round feedback and revise entry for final round.

    **The Golden Rose Contest

    Eligibility: Any non-contracted author of romantic fiction (RWA members only) unpublished in book-length (50,000 words or more) in the last three years and any member of RWA who is not eligible to join RWA-PAN.
    Entry: All electronic. Must be the first 10,000 words of a full-length novel with a projected length of 50,000 words or more. No novellas or short stories. All heat levels and LGBTQ leads are accepted across all categories. RCRW embraces diversity across all categories.
