Abby Matisse spent twenty years in Corporate America holding senior level marketing roles for a number of Fortune 50 companies in financial services and telecommunications. Over the course of her career, she developed an expertise in brand strategy and positioning with a specialty in brand repositioning and turnarounds for companies in crisis.
While brand strategy is a creative profession that fed her passion for a long while, like many authors, Abby had dreamed of writing novels since childhood but found her corporate career too all consuming. She'd dabbled in writing, usually while traveling, and in entered a contest, taking first place in contemporary.
By mid 2011, she suddenly found herself in a less demanding, normal corporate role and decided the time was right to pursue her dream. So she hired a book coach, a plotting coach and a freelance editor and dug in. She self-published her first novel, a romantic comedy entitled "A Deal with the Devil" in July 2012 and by Spring 2013, she'd earned enough in royalties from that first book to qualify for PAN--a dream she wasn't sure she'd ever actually achieve.
Now, Abby is focused on the entrepreneurial path--pursuing her writing in earnest and also developing concepts for two ecommerce companies targeting women. She has four novels planned for the next few years under the Abby Matisse brand and a series of short non-fiction in the works on the subjects of brand strategy, personal branding and personal empowerment and inspiration.
Abby's next novel, Crazy About Cressida, is the first in a new romantic comedy series about loss, love and starting over. It is due out in Spring 2014.
