Bio:

J. Wachowski is a novelist and screenwriter, whose Chicago-set contemporary mystery, “In Plain View,” helped launch the Carina Press imprint line, and noir screenplay “Garbageman,” about a haunted genius, has been optioned by Warner Brothers. 

She has writing credits in local news, business and non-profit organizations. Film and television production credits include the upcoming netflix original "Sense8," indie-feature film “Bound,” as well as programming for ABC-TV and WFXT-TV Boston. She wrote, edited and produced the museum catalog “Early Illinois Folk Art.”

Chosen as a Writer in Residence at Ragdale Foundation, Julie is a member of the Writers Guild of America-East, Historical Novel Society, and Romance Writers of America. She often speaks about writing and Chicago history to libraries, literary groups and readers.

She graduated from Northwestern University with a specialization in Creative Writing for the Media and received her master’s degree in Instructional Design from UNC-Chapel Hill.

She resides in the Midwest with her husband and children.
