RWA Steffie Walker Bookseller of the Year

    The RWA Steffie Walker Bookseller of the Year award is given annually to one special bookseller who provides outstanding service to romance readers and demonstrates notable support of romance authors and the romance genre.

    2014 RWA Steffie Walker Bookseller of the Year
    Edward Whitfill, Ukazoo Books

    Edward Whitfill is the manager and part owner of Ukazoo Books, an independent bookstore in Towson, MD. He is a big supporter of local authors in the Towson and Baltimore–DC area, especially romance writers. Whitfill and his staff host romance events in their store, as well as out of their store, serving as the bookseller for the Maryland Romance Writers' presence at the Baltimore Book Festival. Whitfill is a noted and tireless supporter of books, authors, and romance readers.

    RWA will present Whitfill with the 2014 RWA Steffie Walker Bookseller of the Year Award at the 2014 RWA Conference in San Antonio this summer.

    Historical note: This award was established in 1995 as RWA's Bookseller of the Year Award to honor Booksellers who go above and beyond in their support of the Romance genre, Romance authors, and Romance readers. In 1999 the name was changed to the Steffie Walker Bookseller of the Year Award in honor of the late Steffie Walker, a former recipient of the Bookseller of the Year Award.
