Librarians Day Schedule

7:30 – 8:00 a.m.

Badge Pickup and Morning Coffee

8:00 – 8:30 a.m.

Swipe Right: What Are You Reading Tonight?

Speakers: Librarians Jessi Barrientos, Amy Hall, and Jennifer Hendzlik

One of the many super powers librarians possess is the ability to awaken a love connection between a reader and a book. While non-romance fans might think one romance is just like another, fans know there is more to finding the right romance!  Swipe Right combines concepts from game shows like The Dating Game and Love Connection into a fun and interactive competition to woo our reader. By listening to our readers' likes and dislikes and giving suggestions based on their preferences, we will practice our readers advisory skills one book match at a time.

8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

The Importance of Being Humorous
Speakers: Carolyn Brown, Tessa Dare, Angie Fox, Kristan Higgins, Jenny Holiday, Jenn McKinlay, and Mia Sosa

Love may make the world go round, but laugh, and the world laughs with you. Put these two things together, and you have the ingredients for a romance that is impossible to resist. Join best-selling and award-winning authors for a lively discussion about their books, how they incorporate humor into a romance, and why now, more than ever, we all need even more love and laughter in our lives.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Diversity in your Romance Library Collection and Programs

Speakers: Librarians Robin Bradford, Becker Parkhurst-Strout, Kaiya Schroeder, and Regina Renee Ward

Diversity in our collections is a big area of focus in libraries just as it is with the genre. Join librarians as they start a group discussion on collection and programming practices to ensure a library has an inclusive romance collection and events to serve all its romance fans.

10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Romance BINGO

Presenters: Librarians Amy Alessio, Robin Bradford and Susan Gibberman

See how much you really know about romance books in this fast paced BINGO! Are you familiar with popular tropes and RITA-winning authors? Do you know the latest trends and authors? If you don't, you will by the end of this fun, interactive event with prizes.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Meet and Greet with Authors

12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
