The Room Where It Happens Is Wide Enough: Diversity, Indie Books, and Library Collections
Speaker: Robin Bradford, Timberland Regional Library
Library collections should contain diverse and self-published romance titles. RWA’s 2016 Librarian of the Year, Robin Bradford, will discuss locating and integrating these titles into collections and reader’s advisory programs and materials.

Let's Talk: Romance Novel Characters
Speakers: Megan Crane, Erika Kelly, Jeannie Moon, Jane Porter, and Sherry Thomas
This panel will facilitate a discussion on romance novel character stereotypes, current portrayls of characters in romance novels, and some of the most memorable romance novel protagonists.

Film: Love Between the Covers
Refreshments served during the documentary. A copy of the documentary will be given away as a prize after the viewing.
Watch this fun, informative film about the romance fiction genre, authors, and industry. Learn about this often-misunderstood genre and the individuals who write the novels.

Beyond Subgenre: Tips and Tricks for Effective Read-Alikes
Speakers: Wendy Crutcher, Katie Dunneback, Sarah MacLean, and Lisa Schimmer
We all love romance for a variety of reasons, but when it comes to finding read-alikes for our patrons, we fixate on subgenre. In this fun, interactive panel, three librarians and New York Times best-selling author Sarah MacLean will discuss the myriad of subgenres, character types, tropes, and authorial voices that attract readers to romance and how librarians can cut through to the heart of the matter to find the right book for the reader.

Enjoy lunch with romance authors and listen to a talk by New York Times best-selling author Jennifer L. Armentrout!

Number one New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Jennifer L. Armentrout writes young adult contemporary, urban fantasy/paranormal and romance. She writes New Adult and adult romance under the pen name J. Lynn. She is the author of the Covenant Series (Spencer Hill Press), the Lux Series (Entangled Teen), and she is also published with Harlequin Teen and HarperCollins.

Librarian and Bookseller Networking Event
Come to this informal mixer to meet some of your favorite romance authors and pick up goodies authors have brought just for you!

 

And don’t miss our Readers for Life Literacy Autographing (5:30 – 7:30 p.m.) where more than 400 authors will sign copies of their romance novels! Proceeds from book sales at the event go to ProLiteracy Worldwide.
