Accessibility at RWA2020
RWA is committed to designing an accessible conference for our attendees. We want to make sure we are doing everything possible to ensure all our attendees have an enjoyable event experience. Please read on for information on our accessibility efforts. If you have questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every session and meetup will either be captioned or live-transcribed. Most sessions have been prerecorded and will play directly on the screen within the platform. Any live session or meetup will be held in Zoom. To access the captions for a live meeting in Zoom, attendees can select the Closed Captioning button on the lower toolbar to view the subtitles. This functionality can be toggled on or off as needed.
Our event platform representatives have assured us the platform is accessible via screen readers, but we can work with them if any issues arise. Please note that a chat functionality will be available for attendees to use during both recorded and live sessions.
Registered attendees who require assistance from another person who will need to access the platform with a separate login can contact email@example.com for information on how to get a complimentary companion registration.
RWA is using Pathable for our event platform, which works best in the Chrome browser and is not compatible with Internet Explorer. Live sessions and meetups will be held in Zoom. Please make sure whatever device you are using for this event has the latest version of the Zoom app. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Attendees who indicate they have ADA needs on their registration form will receive early access into the event platform the week of August 17th. This will allow those attendees to navigate, build their agenda, and test all available features, as well as communicate any issues to RWA staff by emailing email@example.com. We will also hold testing sessions for all attendees the week of August 24th so everyone can experience how a live session will run. More information on early access and testing sessions will be available prior to August 17th.
If you have already registered and need accessibility accommodations but did not mark this on your registration form, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
