Share Recipes You Love for an RWA Cookbook

Romance Writers of America is celebrating our members. Over the past year, many of us have dealt with professional and personal hardships. Most of us are not good with change, and change has been around every corner. Now that we’re coming out of the fog of isolation and separation, we’d like to celebrate two of the things we all have in common: food and love. Finding unifying themes and ideas is always a great way to bring people together and, as a force, romance writers are a mighty group.

Food has become a lot of people’s coping mechanism. Sourdough starter anyone?  Whether it was learning to cook or bake at the beginning of the pandemic, or finally having some time to expand culinary abilities, many of us have spent a good portion of the past year feeding ourselves and the ones we care about most. Food connects us. It nourishes us. It’s a universal language.

As is love.

In an effort to celebrate love in all its forms, RWA’s cookbook will feature recipes from you, our members. Recipes that exemplify your meaning of love. Whether it’s a recipe for a romantic dinner for two, an old family Sunday supper that’s been passed down through generations, or a quick, “I was thinking about you” meal that puts a smile on a loved one’s face. These are not just recipes for feeding your family, they feed your soul. They’re all about love.

RWA would like to invite you to submit your favorite recipes. We’re looking for recipes that define love however you see it (familial, romantic, parental, platonic). Our hope is to create a cookbook that showcases our authors and their unique backgrounds and experiences, via the recipe itself, photographs from some of the recipes, and brief stories of how this represents love to you. This collection will serve as a fundraiser for the organization.

Below you’ll find some guidelines, FAQ, and a link to the online submission form. We hope to see a flood of submissions as we come together to celebrate love...in all its delicious forms.

Guidelines

  • This is open to all members of RWA, published and unpublished.
  • You must have cooked the recipe before with adequate results.

  • Not all stories will be chosen to include in every recipe. We are working on a way to showcase any stories that were not included in the published version of the cookbook.
