RWA's Statement on The Hallmark Channel

Over the weekend, The Hallmark Channel removed ads featuring a same-sex couple from wedding website Zola. We are relieved to see that, as of Sunday, December 15, Hallmark has announced they will reinstate the advertisements.

Romance Writers of America has enjoyed a relationship with the publishing arm of Hallmark, and we were incredibly disappointed with the company's initial decision to remove these advertisements. RWA celebrates love for everyone, and believes that everyone deserves to see their love represented. We thank Hallmark for reversing their decision, and we hope in the future they will choose the path of celebrating diversity and inclusivity. We have contacted Hallmark to express these sentiments directly.
