When you think of world building, you probably think of Star Wars or the wonderful wizarding world of Harry Potter. Yes, those are fine examples of world building, but creating the world where any story takes place is the backbone of storytelling.

While your story may not take place on another planet or another plane of existence, you still have to set the stage. Setting touches every single part of your story. When done correctly, your setting/your world becomes a character. I will teach you the three parts to fantastic world building.
