RWA U Webinar: Social Media and Tactical Networking

Join us in this RWA U webinar presented by Xio Axelrod. Do you dread every time you have to log into Twitter or Facebook? Do you feel that no one is engaged in your Instagram posts? Xio Axelrod has worked with retailers, financial institutions, artists, and authors to help them navigate web marketing for their brands. Xio will show you ways to identify your target reader, expand your social media reach, and market yourself using social selling methods. She will also show you techniques to get the most out of pitch-a-thons, multi-author groups, hashtag prompts, and threads. Presenter Bio: Xio Axelrod is a USA Today best-selling author of romantic fiction, contemporary romance and, what she likes to call, strange, twisted tales. Xio grew up in the music industry and began recording at a young age. When she isn’t writing stories, she can be found in the studio, writing songs, or performing on international stages (under a different, no-so-secret name). RWA U Webinar: Style Primer: Transforming Tell into Show

Writers hear this advice all the time: show, don’t tell. But how does an author know what telling is? Isn’t narrative telling the reader the story? Are there times when a scene or statement should be told?  How does an author balance showing and telling so the reader is engaged but not drowning in adjectives?  This course will use three examples to demonstrate the transformation from “tell” to “show”: a single paragraph; a full page; and a full scene. A cheat sheet with “clues” to know whether you’ve told too much, or shown the wrong things will be provided.
