Bio:

Jessica Freely can't resist a wounded hero. As a reader and a writer, her favorite stories are of soul mates finding redemption in each other's arms. Married to the love of her life in a beautiful relationship based on mutual goofiness, Jessica also warps minds as an instructor in Seton Hill University's Writing Popular Fiction MFA program. Her dog, Ruthie, doesn't seem to care that Jessica's an award-winning and best-selling author in multiple genres. She just wants to play tug of war with Jessica's pages.

Speaking and Teaching Experience:

I have been an adjunct faculty member of Seton Hill University's Writing Popular Fiction program since 2007. In that time I have worked one-on-one with over 40 graduate students, helping them to complete their novels. I have taught numerous three-hour lectures on novel structure, synopsis writing, LGBTQ romance, and magic systems for fantasy novels. I've run over seventy critique worlkshops and I've conducted online courses in Classic Fantasy and Current Science Fiction. I am comfortable speaking in front of others and my classes consistently earn four out of four points in student ratings.

In 2013 and 2015 I conducted surveys of LGBTQ romance readers which garnered over 1,000 and 3,000 responses, respectively, providing one of the few quantified sources of information about LGBTQ romance reader's buying habits and demographics.

My first novel came out from Tor Books in 1996 and I have been publishing regularly ever since. I've written mainstream science fiction, young adult, LGBTQ romance, and erotic romance. In 2007, I branched out into the then-new digital publishing world and have been a first-hand participant-observer in the ebook revolution.
